Carlo Sánchez wins first place for night nature photography

One of Restore Coral's guardians is recognised among the best nature photography in Mexico.

We want to congratulate Carlo Sánchez, one of the guardians of Restore Coral, for being selected first place in the Night Nature Photography category, within the publication of the Best of Nature Photography in Mexico.

The prize was awarded by the community of nature photographers in Mexico, a group formed after the Wild 9 event held in 2009 in Mérida, Yucatán, and constituted as a civil association in 2014. The group works to make the work of specialist nature photographers known.

Carlo's photography echoes the aims shared by Restore Coral: to spread awareness of the richness of our country's natural resources, and to make the public aware of how important it is to preserve marine species.

We are proud of the commitment our collaborators bring to this project. The best way for people to understand why marine resources matter is to show their beauty — to make it clear that this is the present, and that it is worth keeping.
