Oceans Week Mexico 2022: revitalise the ocean

Restore Coral joins Oceans Week around United Nations World Oceans Day, under the theme Revitalization: Collective Action for the Ocean.

Oceans Week Mexico took place in Mexico City from the seventh to the ninth of June 2022, built around United Nations World Oceans Day and its theme, Revitalization: Collective Action for the Ocean.

Restore Coral took part alongside other organisations working on the Mesoamerican Reef, as a proud member of the Friends of United Nations World Oceans Day.

In Cozumel the same week carried its own programme — regenerative snorkelling, restoration and monitoring sessions, and the meeting of art and science that has run through this work from the beginning.

Collective action is not a slogan here. The reef crosses four countries and more jurisdictions than any single organisation can hold, which means the work only scales when it is shared.
