To celebrate the Mesoamerican Reef, #RestoreCoral will convene a online streaming video series called “MAR Day (Mesoamerican Reef Day): Resilience & Development, Road to United Nations World Oceans Day 2021” on March 10, 2021, this event will be broadcasted on Restore Coral’s Youtube Channel and portal, starting at 9am, Central Time Mexico. The video series will also be shared on the UN World Oceans Day website as a lead up to the event in June. The goals of this series are the following:

  • Highlighting the Ocean Life of the area and the Current Resilience Efforts

  • Highlighting the Mayan Coastal Communities that have being Affected by the Degradation of the Ecosystem, the COVID Economical Crisis and the Coastal Development

  • Showcasing Innovations for Sustainable Development

  • To contribute to the Resilience Strategy of the Region
